Model EU

The European Studies Center's annual Model EU events invite students to step into the role of European Union leaders for a day of immersive negotiation and debate. Participants tackle real-world policy challenges, collaborate across borders, and gain firsthand insight into how the EU works. Model EU programs are available for both high school and undergraduate students, providing opportunities to build connections, and critrical thinkings, expand global awareness, and gain a richer view of Europe in action.

High School Model EU

Every fall, we invite high school students to the Pitt campus for a day-long simulation where they engage in intense negotiations about conflicting issues in and about the EU.

Undergraduate Model EU

Undergraduate students convene in our annual two-day Model EU event to learn about the workings of the European Union.

Model EU is sponsored by: The University of Pittsburgh’s European Studies Center with funding from the US Department of Education and Jean Monnet European Union Centers of Excellence
