The University Center for International Studies works closely with academic departments and professional schools throughout the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, Pitt Global/UCIS jointly sponsors several centers and programs.
Center for International Legal Education
The Center for International Legal Education (CILE) at Pitt Law advances legal education and the rule of law, both at the School of Law and throughout the world. CILE offers a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree program and a visiting scholars program for foreign academics, among other initiatives.
Matthew B. Ridgway Center for International Security Studies
The Ridgway Center for International Security Studies investigates and analyzes past and emerging security problems. The center seeks to generate original research and intellectual capital to address specific problems facing the United States and the international community.
World History Center
The University of Pittsburgh’s World History Center promotes critical research and teaching about human communities in motion and the forces that shape the global past and present.

Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies
Established in 1948, the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) - a nonprofit, non-political, scholarly society - is the leading international organization dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about Central Asia, the Caucasus, Russia, and Eastern Europe in regional and global contexts.
European Union Studies Association
The European Union Studies Association (EUSA) is the premier scholarly and professional association focusing on the European Union, the ongoing integration process, and transatlantic relations.
Latin American Studies Association
The Latin American Studies Association (LASA) is the largest professional association in the world for individuals and institutions engaged in the study of Latin America. With over 12,000 members, over 65 percent of whom reside outside the United States, LASA is the one association that brings together experts on Latin America from all disciplines and diverse occupational endeavors, across the globe.
Comparative and International Education Society
The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) is an academic association dedicated to increasing understanding of educational issues, trends, and policies through comparative, intercultural, and international perspectives. CIES is the largest and oldest of 47 comparative and international education societies around the world. Its more than 3,000 individual members — researchers, analysts, practitioners, and students — represent over 1,000 universities, research institutes, government departments, non-governmental organizations, and multilateral agencies across the globe.
