- Alcohol and Drug Policies
- Per University Policies on Alcohol and Drugs, alcohol and illegal drugs are not permitted in the Global Hub.
- Food Policies
- Homemade food items and/or temperature regulation appliances, including coffee makers, open flame burners, and sterno devices, are not permitted in the Global Hub. Pitt units wishing to use a hot plate, sterno device, kettle, or coffee maker, must have a designated Pitt staff member monitoring the devices for the duration of use.
- Pitt catering is not required in the Global Hub, and a catering exemption is not required.
- Pre-packaged baked goods or snacks are approved for use in the Global Hub. Examples of approved foods include but are not limited to pre-packaged foods: chips, veggie trays, cookies, pastries, drinks, etc. Items must be marked for ingredients and allergens. Additionally, food that is picked up or delivered from nearby restaurants AND which does not require temperature regulation may be approved. Examples of such food include pizza and salads.

Groups found using these items may be subject to fines for damage.
- Global Hub Event Capacity
- The Global Hub can hold 40 people comfortably and safely.
- Events that are projected to be larger than 40 people require that Posvar Galleria be reserved (via 25Live in mypitt.edu) and proof of reservation confirmation and a plan for layout that allows for continued access to stairwells, classrooms, and elevators be submitted to globalhub@pitt.edu before the reservation can be approved. Regardless, every effort must be made to keep pathways to the elevators and stairwells/emergency exists clear.
- Events exceeding capacity and creating a safety hazard may be asked to wrap up early to ensure public safety.
