Transatlantic Pitt- Florence EU Fellowship

Funded in part by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union and the Curated Immersive Fellowships of Humanities Engage at the University of Pittsburgh, the Transatlantic Pitt-Florence EU Fellowship offers an immersive research experience that spans both Pittsburgh and Florence. This fellowship connects the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in Italy and the Archive of European Integration (AEI) at the University of Pittsburgh, supporting a broad range of projects related to European integration and the European Union.

Scholars from various disciplines are encouraged to apply, especially those seeking to expand their research to include European integration and EU studies. The fellowship supports projects in areas ranging from academic publications and pedagogical materials to public-facing initiatives and policy briefs.

Awardees will receive funding to travel between the U.S. and Italy, where they will participate in one week of training at the HAEU in Florence, followed by up to three weeks in Pittsburgh. Fellows will also have opportunities to meet with faculty members at the University of Pittsburgh to further develop their projects.

Eligibility

Open to K-16 educators, pre-doctoral, post-doctoral, and senior scholars. Applicants must be able to travel between the US and Italy and are responsible for fulfilling any visa obligations. Applications from both US and non-US citizens are welcome.
